Bears Spotted In Clarkstown For Second Consecutive Day
Two cubs and an adult female wandering in Crikki Lane neighborhood.
Two cubs and an adult female bear have been spotted wandering a western Clarkstown neighborhood for a second day in a row, according to Clarkstown police.
State Department of Environmental Conservation officers have been called to check out the bears, which today are roaming Crikki Lane at Lawrence Street in Nanuet. Clarkstown police Sgt. Harry Baumann said the bears have not acted threatening to anyone, but have been rummaging through garbage cans and strolling through local yards.
Baumann said the bears were spotted nearby along West Clarkstown Road and Burda Lane.
Clarkstown police officers are keeping an eye out for the bears this afternoon until state DEC experts can check on the bears.
