Boulders Win Opening Game At New Stadium

End to long road trip revitalizes players eager to deliver a win for family and friends.

A homecoming was just the thing the Rockland Boulders needed to snap their losing streak.

The Can-Am League baseball team showed off for a sell-out crowd of 6,137 people who packed the first game at the new Provident Bank Park in Pomona, defeating the Brockton Rox, 3-1, with the leadership of starting pitcher Bobby Blevins.

The Briarcliff Manor native pitched 8 strong innings—although giving up one solo home run—to get the win. Blevins, who had more than 60 friends and family members in the stands at Provident Bank Park for the home opener, said that right from the start of pre-game practice the game was an emotional one for him.
