Christopher Carey Wins Legislative District 9 (VIDEO)

Christopher Carey beats Christopher Martone for legislative seat

Christopher Carey won the voters' approval to represent them in County Legislative District 9.  The Board of Elections' unofficial results have him receiving 2,204 votes to Christopher Martone's 1,658 votes.

Carey's name appeared on the Republican, Conservative, and Independence tickets. His opponent, Martone, ran on the Democrat and Working Families lines.

"I am so proud of the campaign that we ran," he said. "We kept it about the issues and who was more qualified to be the District 9 legislator."

Carey, 49, is a Bardonia resident. Martone of New City is 31. District 9 encompasses all of Bardonia, parts of Nanuet and New City, and small slivers of Pomona and West Nyack.

This is a very good win for the people of Bardonia. Hopefully, he will persuade Bergstol to conform with OUR zoning codes and not proceed trying to force through a QuickChek monstrosity on our community.

Mr. Bergstol, you have heard our voice. We welcome something along the lines of the West Nyack Village Square which will conform with the zoning code.

Raise Bardonia up! Don't dumb it down!
