33-year-old Congers Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Second man injured in accident on causeway linking Congers and New City.

Congers resident Richard Serpico, 33, was killed in a late-night motorcycle crash Friday on the causeway linking Congers to New City over the Lake DeForest reservoir, according to Clarsktown police.

A second man, a Yonkers resident, was seriously injured in the accident. Police are investigating to determine the cause of the crash, which took place around 10:45 p.m.

The motorcycle involved, a 2007 Honda, is was owned by Serpico of 133 Congers Road. Peter Lombardi of Yonkers sustained serious head and chest injuries and is in critical condition in the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, according to police.

The wreck and the police investigation shut the causeway to traffic for several hours. Police said the men were found about 150 feet from the motorcycle.
