D.A.: Man, Woman Used Drugs, Endangered Child

Man accused of being on heroin and oxycondone while driving on parkway; 9-year-old son was in back seat.

A man and woman from Orange County arrested on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Clarkstown on drug charges have been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City for endangering the welfare of a 9-year-old boy who was riding in the car with them.

Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said Michael Donald, 34, of 21 Oak St., Greenwood Lake, and Jennifer Donald, 28, of 94 Cromwell Hill Road, Monroe, were stopped by State Police at about 11 p.m. on May 2 on the parkway. Zugibe said Michael Donald, with his son in the back seat, was impaired by the heroin and oxycondone.

Zugibe said Jennifer Donald had also used drugs and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic needle and a spoon coated with oxycodone residue.

Both Michael Donald and Jennifer Donald were indicted on the charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Michael Donald was also indicted for aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Jennifer Donald was additionally indicted on the charges of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic needle.
