Why Go: The Palisades Center will play host to Rockland County’s newest family entertainment event, the Palisades Fair. The event will feature shows, State Fair amusement rides, fair foods and games.

Nanuet Library Snow Cone Day

Girl Scout Holds Food Drive & Minimum Wage Petition Drive

When/Where: Saturday, June 23 at 8 a.m./Stop & Shop, 180 N Main St, New City
Why Go:  New City Girl Scout Hannah Buckler is running a food drive to benefit Soup Angels in Nyack where she volunteers. She is also holding a petition drive to get support to raise the minimum wage in New York State as part of her Silver Award Project.

Clarkstown Pools Open

When/Where: Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m./Germonds Pool, Lake Nanuet and Congers Pool
Why Go: It’s officially summer! All three town pools will open. Germonds Pool will be open from 12 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Lake Nanuet will be open from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.  Congers Pool will be open from 12 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Arts & Craft Demo

When/Where: Saturday, June 23 from 1 to 3 p.m./
Why Go: AC Moore has a free Arts & Craft demonstration. Stop by and see the “Wilton Fondant Fun” demonstration.

Why Go: Get a jumpstart on the July 4 holiday with this local celebration.

Pearl River Public Library Summer Reading Kickoff

When/Where: Registration is ongoing. Children start reporting on books read Monday, June 25. Kickoff event with Sidewalk Chalk Art Night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 (rain date of June 28)/ Pearl River Library
Why Go: Encourage your children by rewarding them through the library’s summer reading program. This year’s theme is Dream Big: Read! The library provides the sidewalk and the chalk as well as teen volunteers for face painting.

Pearl River Carnival

When/Where: Thursday June 28 through Monday, July 1. Open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. /Central Ave. Field in Pearl River
Why Go: Treat the kids to rides, games and food with the money raised going to the Pearl River Park & Activities Committee to pay for the 4th of July fireworks on the Central Ave. Field.
Cost/Contact: $25 for unlimited ride passes.
