Hold on to summer
School starts soon, fall is approaching, take advantage of the last weeks of summer by getting outside.
There are only a few weeks before the kiddies head back to school. Soon after, summer will abandon us and make way for cooler air. There may not be time to plan a vacation or travel at all for that matter, but that is no excuse for wasting the final weeks of summer indoors.
Clarkstown is full of beauty waiting to be enjoyed so grab those last fleeting summer days. There are plenty of options for both families and those looking for a few moments of peace and solitude out in nature.
Set up a picnic at Lake Nanuet, Germonds or Congers Lake Memorial Park. Just bring your favorite food and a few cold drinks, the parks are equipped with picnic tables, benches, basketball courts, softball fields, playgrounds and pools.
Walking trails are available at Demarest Kill Park, Kennedy Dells Park and Phillips Hill Park all in New City. The air is cooler on the walking paths because they wind through the tall trees behind the Kennedy Dells Park. Start at Phillips Hill Park where they have instructional signs on how to properly get a good stretch in before your jog.
Zukor Park sits on 30 acres, all kept beautiful by the Town of Clarkstown Department of Parks and Recreation. Zukor offers multiple soccer and baseball fields, basketball parks and playgrounds.
Get outside before the summer ends and enjoy the beauty your community has to offer.
