This Weekend: Ice Skating Park Opens In Congers
It's open from 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The event is free for Clarkstown residents and $1 for non-residents. The town also has skate rentals at the rink.
Clarkstown is hopping on board with the 'ice' theme since the Knickerbocker Ice Festival is this weekend.
The Town of Clarkstown is opening its ice skating rink, which uses “synthetic ice” that has been put down at the roller rink at Congers Lake Memorial Park—6 Gilchrest Road, Congers.
The Knickerbocker festival is at Rockland Lake State Park so Clarkstown provided transportation between the festival and the ice rink. Mini Trans will be shuttling people between the two locations about every 10 minutes.
The rink will be open from 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The buses will leave from Rockland Lake State Park from the north parking lot or parking lot 1, from the large administration building. Councilwoman Stephanie Hausner said to expect large signs directing people to the drop off/pick up location.
The event is free for Clarkstown residents and $1 for non-residents. The town also has skate rentals at the rink.

Just 8 hours and it is just opening?
How much did this rink cost and why is it not open more frequently

btw, it's only a 1/2 rink. It cost $150,000, but it was a "grant". Yet another fine example of the excellent use of the taxpayers money.

After you skate you can head over to the Miniature Golf Course if you like to be alone. Or sit on the bench in that park in New City or the one on West Nyack Road , both built for those who like to contemplate or meditate in private.

Isn't there also one of those skateboard things also going unused in that park?

It's open year round. It's been open. I think it's more of a "Grand opening" to get people to take notice that it's there.
