A 23-year-old New City man was shot in the chest early this morning outside the restaurant at a Nanuet hotel, where a fight had broken out at a party attended by more than 100 people, according to Clarkstown police.
The shooting victim, Leon Raad, was taken by members of the Nanuet Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Nyack Hospital and was then transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Police said they are awaiting updated information on Raad’s condition, however, they said he is expected to recover from his wounds.
Police said the shooting took place about 2:58 a.m. outside the New Latin Grill restaurant, 365 Route 59 at the Days Inn hotel. Raad was attending a party at the restaurant with about 120 people.
Raad, according to police, was involved with an altercation at the party and was then shot in the parking lot. Police said an investigation is ongoing to identify the shooter.

Clarkstown police today are investiging gunfire overnight at a hotel restaurant in Nanuet, where a man was shot in the chest.
The victim, not yet identified by police, was taken to Nyack Hospital and is still alive following the 3 a.m. incident at the New Latin Grill inside the Days Inn, 365 W. Route 59.
Detectives are searching for the guman in the shooting.
