Memorial Service for Jacob Halle Postponed Until Week Of February 12
Service originally set for Monday, Feb. 6 has been postponed.
The Ramapo College memorial service for New City resident Jacob Halle has been postponed until the week of February 12. No specific day or time has been announced. Halle died on Wednesday after suffering critical injuries in a two-car accident near the college on Monday.
Ramapo College President Peter Mercer sent a message to students and staff announcing the service originally scheduled for Monday, Feb. 6 was being changed to a later date and different location.
The date and venue are being changed to accommodate both the Halle family and the large number of students that indicated an interest in attending the service.
Halle, 22 years old, had graduated from Clarkstown North High School. He was in his junior year at the college and majoring in Political Science.
Mercer wrote that the service will be open to everyone regardless of faith and all are encouraged to attend. Rabbi Ely Allen and the Ramapo College Hillel will host the service. He noted date and location information would be provided when plans are completed.
Halle will also be formally honored on April 18 as part of the College's Remembrance Day Ceremony and a tree will be planted in his memory.
