New City Library Board Seeks Volunteers For Committee

The board wants volunteers for New Executive Director Search Committee

 

New City Library Board Member Tom Ninan, who chairs the New Executive Director Search Committee, has been gathering names of potential volunteers for the committee. On Thursday, he said the library staff, board members and community residents have been asked to submit their names if they want to participate. Marianne Silver said she was not interested in becoming the executive director.

Silver, who is the library’s head of adult services, was appointed to the interim executive director position after the departure of .

“I’m happy to help out until they find someone permanent,” said Silver.

Ninan said he has interviewed some people who served on the previous executive director search committee and that either six or seven people had contacted him. Ninan hopes that he and Board President Joe Reiter will have people to recommend for the committee at the next board meeting on Thursday, Aug. 16.
