New City Supermarket Worker Accused In $1,200 Theft

Police: Internal investigation at Stop and Shop revealed missing cash over a three-month period.

A worker at the New City Stop and Shop has been charged with grand larceny in connection with the theft of $1,200 from the store over a three-month period, according to Clarkstown police.

Tricia Rivera, 42, of Congers, was charged after an internal investigation by the supermarket showed money missing from a cash register at the store from Aug. 1 to Oct. 10, according to police.

Rivera, after being charged, was released pending a Nov. 2 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
