New Youth Employment Training Program Offered

County Youth Bureau requires applications by Feb. 15

The Rockland County Youth Bureau announced a new workforce preparation and placement program called Teen Employment Education Network (T.E.E.N. Works).

This 20-week program is designed to provide youths between the ages of 14 and 21, who meet eligibility requirements, with a meaningful experience in the workforce.  The program will offer training, experiential activities and paid job placement upon successful completion of the program.  The county-funded program's goal of the program is to train teens and young adults to become successful, contributing members of the workforce and with objectives for their future.

Participants will receive four stipends of $125 each during the 20 weeks and possible job placement at the end of the program.

Applications for T.E.E.N. Works are currently available and can be mailed, e-mailed or picked up from the Youth Bureau.  The deadline for submitting an application is Wednesday, February 15.  The program begins on March 12 and concludes August 21.
