Dear Town Board and Town Attorney,
You should be ashamed of yourselves for blatantly dismissing one patronage person, Marsha Coppersmith because she is no longer of use to you since she doesn't control the Independence Party line any more; and then filling her position with another patronage appointment by hiring an outside lawyer, who just happens to be the head of the Bronx Republican party, and the lawyer defending the recent head of the Independence Party, even though he has no experience in tax certiorari cases in representing towns.
This is exactly why Term Limits are needed because even though your entire group keeps thumbing your collective noses at the residents of Clarkstown, the voters keep electing you to office for some unfathomable reason. Term Limits are needed to protect the average citizens from themselves.
Hopefully, the voters of Clarkstown will wake up and see the way you run Clarkstown by giving party bosses and political cronies high paying jobs in our town in return for giving you their respective party lines come election time.
Shame, shame on you!
Regards,
Guy Gervasi

I wish the voters were asleep. If they were, we could wake them up. I think most of them are in a more comatose state.

Lettre had no experience I construction except for a failed business with his brother.
...He was put in charge of construction and got over $100,000 in raises
Nick Longo had ZERO experience as a Tax Assessor.
...He was named Tax Assessor
Amaie Vargas is a lawyer with ZERO experience in Finance.
...She was appointed Clarkstown Finance Director.
Joel Epstein had a restaurant which closed down.
...He was appointed Code Enforcement Officer and now makes $168,000 after getting a 16%raise this year.
Jay Savino, an attorney who says he lives in the Bronx has ZERO experience representing Municipal Hovernment in Tax Certiori matters.
GROMACK Appoints him to handle all tax certiorari matters for the Town.
I could go on and on but you get the idea. NONE OF THESE PEOPLE WERE QUALIFIED FOR THESE JOBS.
OUR TOWN, YOUR TOWN AND MINE HAS BEEN TURNED INTO A CORRUPT PATRONAGE MILL
I find that disgusting Mr. Gromack.

I am not disputing the fact that dwellings may be disproportionately assessed. However, I have a question for '$$$$$$$" - If every single homeowner were to file tax challenges, wouldn't the town just increase the tax rate? They'd still have the same expenses. Shouldn't we really just want the Town to decrease spending?

To Mr. Gromack and Mr. Sparaco,
The both of you were elected with the public's trust. And from what I am seeing in Clarkstown and other parts of Rockland County is just pure political patronage and corruption. How can you two do this to the taxpayers by hiring unqualified people especially with shady pasts of actual factual proof. We need to rebuild America, and not to keep tearing down the morals of what we built ourselves up to. Why does it always have to be a politically connected person who gets the job. This is not a fair hiring process. All I have to say is the taxpayers deserve way better.

And let's not forget to thank Councilwoman Stephanie Hausner, who was the only vote against this Gromack-Reda-Lettre political machine deal. This is the first time that I think she has not voted with Alex. Hopefully it will not be the last.

With all due respect to Stephanie Hausner her vote did not matter had it been the deciding vote I would feel differently.Unless she consistently votes against the majority with a deciding vote it may just be a habit. and with respect to the tax grievances the real estate agents who hear the case are likely as corrupt as everyone else in Clarkstown. Be prepared to appeal your case.
Was it just a bad dream or did I read that Gromack has decided that unless you are in line for a 25% tax reduction you will not get anything. In essence decreeing Clarkstown will be allowed to over tax you by 24.9999%
