North Carolina Man Charged in Nyack Bank Robbery

Orangetown police: A former Nyack resident faces felony charges in connection with Trustco Bank robbery Saturday.

Orangetown Police have arrested Richard Williams, a 39-year-old North Carolina resident and former Nyack resident, on charges that he robbed Nyack's Trustco Bank branch Saturday morning.

Williams is accused of using a pistol to threaten employees, fleeing the bank with approximately $14,000. He was arrested Monday and arraigned this morning in Nyack Justice Court; he is currently being held in Rockland County Correctional Center in New City without bail.

Charges brought against Williams include first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree grand larceny.
