A few undercover Clarkstown police officers arrested three people for car larceny. The investigation is still ongoing. The police officers were patrolling the area because of reoccurring break-ins in the area when they spotted a suspicious car driving around, said Congers Resident Carolyn D'Ettore whose mini-van was broken into a little before 8 p.m. Friday.
"Three arrests were made regarding the larceny. We've had some (car break-ins) throughout the town," said Clarkstown Police.
"I got the call from Clarkstown Police that my mini van was broken into at 8 p.m.," said D'Ettore, who lives in Stratford Arms Condo Complex in Congers. "I rushed home quickly. I saw shattered glass all over the pavement."
The passenger window was broken. Her husband John was asked to go to the police station to identify property that the three suspects stole. He correctly identified a GPS tracking system.
The D'Ettores ran out quickly for an errand and their son, Michael, was at home playing a video game when the incident occurred.
"The police knocked on the door and asked if my parents owned a mini-van," said Michael. "They then called my parents."
"My neighbor Sharon Kunz, she was great," said D'Ettore. "She immediately went over to my son and make sure everything was ok. She definitely put my mind at ease. There's been quite a few incidents regarding break-ins in this area and Clarkstown Police did a great job. I'm so happy they caught the people who did this."

Because he's old enough to stay home for a few hours while his parents run errands. Will you be so judgemental on the parents of the criminals?

Where does it say he is 11? And besides 11 is old enough to be home for a while. That is what is wrong with some parents today. You suffocate your kids. When we were kids and that was not that long ago there were no cell phones. You went out all day with your friends climbing trees catching frogs and getting dirty. We were 8 and 9 years old and that was only 30 years ago. Anyway I'm glad they caught those thugs that have been breaking in to cars.

I work in a correctional facility for over 25 years and the crimes listed here are ones usually despised and looked down upon by other felons. Hard core inmates call these perpetrators "skid beaters" and "skells" and usually stay away from them once inside their block. I call them pigs, scum that need to be incarcerated and sent to a large overcrowded state prison..".the real deal Neal" . Then we'll see how creative they are in explaining their charges. I bet that if they get probation we will be seeing them again in a future article with this crime reported today talked about " they were once charged with a felon and several misdemeanors" ...let's do it now and convict and incarcerate for protection from society. What do you think ?
