christie nicolle April 20, 2014 at 07:29 pm
nice of you to say your sorry Darlene, but it wont help if another child is murdered by your dog...Read More you cant give another chance to a pitbull.

dog don't murder, people murder. 1. the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.Read More "the stabbing murder of an off-Broadway producer" synonyms: killing, homicide, assassination, liquidation, extermination, execution, slaughter, butchery, massacre; You know if you're going to make comments at least try to get the terms right. That's like saying a automobile murdered someone. Thanks for giving your comments a lot of thought.

I think he or she may have his or hers priorities a little messed up or you are not his or herRead More messenger. You're just a hateful judgmental person who really should learn to mind her own fucking business and stay out of peoples bedrooms.

Christie, I never said god wants rape abortion etc, I said that he (according to the bible) condonesRead More it. The ignorance is yours for not apparently having read your bible. There are numerous passages where he does so, but far be it for me to give you biblical lessons...........Deuteronomy 22:25-28 .....Exodus 21:7........Numbers 31: 17-18.......... etc etc.......... So seriously who is the ignorant one here?
christie nicolle April 20, 2014 at 08:23 pm
Carl, even if different Christian sects disagree, it's only in degrees that we differ... + don'tRead More insult our God by writing a small "g". Even the Anglican church who allowed a gay priest, did it under the condition he be celibate. That homosexual acts are an abomination to God is not just Christians, even Hindu + Buddhist + Muslim + Native Americans are against it. So quit the Christian bashing already.

The idea that local communities should base their school tax on the basis of property values is anRead More archaic one that dates back to the time when people lived on farms that produced income. I believe that school taxes should be collected by the State of NY, based on income and distributed to local school districts with out strings on an agreed upon formula basis formula basis Part of the fear about a statewide property tax is that as all of the money comes to Albany and that the decisions made there are suspect and do away the sacrosanct concept of "community control." However, the property valuation system is broken. If we are to solve the problem of the high and unfair taxes home owners pay then we at least need to eliminate the mantra of local control and do like the founders of our nation did when they got rid of the Articles of Confederation and adopted the Constitution.
PatchRat April 20, 2014 at 04:56 pm
The article is not about school tax. The article is about the Village tax. More importantly, theRead More article is about a Village that just a year ago was is in near melt-down as residents arched their backs when the school district proposed to bust the tax cap legislation ... but ... today there is absolute silence in the same Village when the Village proposes a budget that busts the tax cap. There is a clear and curious disconnect between the reaction a year ago to the school district proposing to bust the tax cap and the current proposal by the village to bust the tax cap.

Where do you get your grant money? Federal and state government right? Then you give out a % of itRead More and support yourselves with the rest. That' s how it works. Right?
Barry Goldberg April 16, 2014 at 11:09 am
Nothing new here. What's playing out here is simply the same old game practiced at every level, fromRead More the village to the federal government. We know what's been happening in Clarkstown since the earliest days of Holbrook's "cesspool of patronage and corruption," and extending down to Gromack the Great. What we see with Reda at this time is the power politics of the changing of the guard. In a closed society, it all goes on behind hermetically-sealed doors. Here, some of the cesspool stink oozes out underneath the closed doors. Whatever. The end result is the same. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Through unholy alliances, Gromack has almost absolute power, and it shows through the complete disdain he has for town residents. If you want to know more, check out our Patch blog, The Evil that Men Do! and/or visit our web site at townofclarkstownvgoldberg.org, which now has over 900 hits in just 3-4 months.

This "Emperors Ball" is something beyond my comprehension. One way to get rid of the likesRead More of scoundrel Reda is to ignore everything he says and does. This would have been a perfect occasion for all Republicans to do just that. Instead, this expensive "Black Tie Ball" beyond the reach of ordinary folks gives off the appearances that these politicians like Astorino have sold out to big business after having been elected by their poorer overtaxed brethren. Appearances mean everything and the photos Reda's entourage will be sure to take to legitimize his illegal position will be the death knell for those in the picture. Said another way. Rob Astorino....how can you be so stupid as to be taken in by the likes of Vinny Reda. You will lose my vote by continuing your association with Reda and The other scalawag Frankie Gumballs Sparaco.
Charles Clewsow April 16, 2014 at 05:11 pm
Just what are they thinking? By "they" I mean any respectable member of the RocklandRead More Republican Party. Chances are, if you are in this group, you have been screwed several times over by Vinny Reda. So why attend this "coming back party" for an illegitimate Chairman, who was recently stripped of his position at the State level? I am at a complete loss to explain why anyone who has seen Reda support Democrats over Republicans, given lip service to Ed Day for County Executive and then took credit for the win, chose Vanderhoef over Day in his disastrous race against Carlucci, witnessed the "stab in the back of Sabatini" or supported Gromack for Clarkstown Supervisor by running a fake candidate who bailed and then failed to replace him? Were any of you here in Rockland when these events transpired? If so, what the hell are you doing at an affair intended to legitimize an illegitimate Chairman? Seems like ordinary Joe six Pack is being sold down the river by the Tuxedoed wine and cheese crowd. Shameful, and yes disrespectful. Didn't take long, did it?

JD You're 100% correct about the person walking the street. It's the owner of the dogsRead More responsibility. The mass breeding of the Pit Bull has also contributed to the problem. A big contributor to this Pit Bull mania was Sports Illustrated. In 1987 they put a pit baring its teeth on the cover with the headline "Beware of this dog". This attracted a lot of types of people that wanted them. Gang members sought the breed in droves. Back yard breeders began over breeding because the demand was so high. Many of these dogs were abused, abandoned and became sought after for the ring. To make them meaner they would pump them with steroids, beat them, chain them with heavy chains around their necks all day to make them stronger and force them with hours of exercise daily. It is human scum that have made Pit Bulls the problem. The monsters are humans not these wonderful animals. Joe R why don't you add the most savage of those animals to your list, humans.

The Pit Bull story repeats in a 1/2 hour at midnight tonight on Nat Geo Wild with Cesar Millan.
