 vent will take place in Putter Gymnasium beginning at 3:30 p.m.\nBerkovi
 ts is the author of Guided Imagery with Children: Successful Techniques 
 to Improve School Performance and Self-Esteem (Whole Person Associates\,
  2004).&nbsp\; A teacher in the New York City school system for over 20 
 years\, Berkovits developed a curriculum in guided imagery that is now u
 sed throughout the New York City public schools and in select independen
 t schools.&nbsp\;\nHer approach emphasizes changing self-belief and self
 -perception\, with the goal of helping struggling or disruptive students
  and their families improve academic and social behaviors. Children who 
 see themselves as failures are guided to transform negative images into 
 positive ones. In this way\, they can successfully reverse many years of
  discouragement and disillusionment.&nbsp\; Guided visualization takes l
 ittle time to learn\, and results are seen almost immediately.\nHeralded
  as &ldquo\;vivid&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;brilliant&rdquo\; for both school 
 and home applications\, Berkovits&rsquo\; system has received critical a
 cclaim and accolades from a wide range of professionals who work with ch
 ildren.&nbsp\; It is an excellent tool for classroom teachers and parent
