The Historical Society of Rockland County Announces daytrip to tour and dine at The New York Historical Society in Manhattan

The Historical Society of Rockland County continues its popular bus trips on Saturday, February 25th with a daytrip to tour The New York Historical Society.
Guests will enjoy a private guided tour of the highlights of the museum, followed by luncheon at Caffè Storico (Italian for “historic”) the newest restaurant from the acclaimed restaurateur Stephen Starr, (of Buddakan and Morimoto) which delights with casual elegance and features dishes inspired by classic Italian cicchetti, or small plates, as well as handmade artisanal pastas. Then guests will be invited to view the pathbreaking exhibition: Revolution! The Atlantic World Reborn. This is the first exhibition to relate the American, French and Haitian revolutions as a single, global narrative. Aterward, guests will have time to visit other exhibitions in the museum such as Beauties of the Gilded Age: Peter Marié's Miniatures of Society Women and Making American Taste: Narrative Art for a New Democracy.

More About The Historical Society of Rockland County
The Historical Society of Rockland County maintains a small museum and the Blauvelt house, which it acquired in 1970. The museum is dedicated to the historically significant events and places in Rockland County. They offer research and archive services to the county and residents who may be interested in County history. There are also tours of the Blauvelt house available on Sundays and by appointment.
