Women’s History Month Events at Rockland Community College. Share the celebration of the lives and contributions of women during Women’s History Month. The national theme this year is women’s education and empowerment. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Performance: Flowers Aren’t Enough
Cultural Arts Theater
Naomi Ackerman will perform "Flowers Aren't Enough," a dramatic monologue that tells the story of Michal, a young woman from an upper-middle-class family who finds herself in an abusive relationship. The monologue is woven from true stories graciously shared by women willing to talk about their all-too-common experiences. Please join us after the show for a discussion with Naomi Ackerman and representatives from Rockland Family Shelter - Lynn Sheinkin, Deputy Executive Director of Programming and Services and Lynn Goldblatt, Coordinator of Jewish Orthodox Community Services, Project Tikvah.

Liz Abzug, President and co-Founder of The Bella Abzug Leadership Institute, is an attorney, professor, and activist. Please join us as Ms. Abzug shares her unique insights about the evolving roles of women and girls in the modern political process.
