Clarkstown Honors Veterans, Renames Causeway

1) Events: Clarkstown will hold a veterans ceremony, dedicate the Freedom Causeway, and honor the 2014 Rockland County Veteran of the Year at 10 a.m. Town officials will recognize those involved in the Adopt-a-Spot project on Congers Road near Strawtown Road in New City, where the ceremony will take place. 2) Events: The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce holds its first fun networking and business expo that is also a fundraiser for the chamber's High School Scholarship Fund. Local businesses will show off their products and services and provide gift certificates and discount coupons to everyone in attendance. $20 buys food all evening at the Comfort Inn on Route 59 in Nanuet starting at 5 p.m. There will be raffle prizes and a 50/50 with all proceeds going to the Scholarship fund.
