1) Events: The Rockland County Legislature meets at 7 p.m. and begins with a public hearing on “Best Value Award Methodology” for purchase contracts. The legislature will vote on a request to amend the 2013 Capital Budget to include $3.6 million for replacement of the Samsondale Ave Bridge in West Haverstraw as a capital project. The bridge over the CSX Railroad tracks has been cited during state inspections for structural defects. The county would receive $2,164,000 in matching federal aid and is applying for other funding.
2) Events: Stop by the New City Library for a photo trip to the Andes Mountains in Peru and the Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. Professor Barry Kass will a photo lecture of the Andes Mountains at 1 p.m.

3) Weather: Winter Weather Advisory issued for snow between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Two to five inches is possible. There could also be periods of sleet or freezing rain with a high temperature of 28 degrees.
4) News: A piece about County Exec-Elect Ed Day asking the state Education Commissioner to make East Ramapo ditch its law firm was the most-read post on Patch yesterday.
