Support Meals On Wheels, Watch Wrestling Fundraiser

Each day, Patch provides the nuts and bolts of local happenings with our five-bullet local dispatch.  

1) Events: Help Smash Hunger by eating at Smashburger today between 11 a.m. and 10 p.mSmashburger is donating a percentage of today's net proceeds to Meals on Wheels, which serves the homebound, seniors and others in Rockland County through a multi-purpose agency which focuses on nutritional, recreational and social support programs. Find more details here.

2) Events: The first ever Battle for the Belt is a charity wrestling match between rivals Nanuet and Pearl River. The Thursday 6 p.m. event is being held at Pearl River High School in conjunction with "Senior Recognition Night," dedicated to the memory of Tommy Scognamiglio.  He would have been a senior this year at Pearl River High School. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Tommy Lollipop Project and the Tommy Scogs Foundation. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students in grades seven to 12 and free for those in grades six and under. There will be food, raffles and t-shirts. Read about it.
