The 2nd Annual Stickball Home Run Derby Tournament was held Sunday morning in support of our local first responders.
Sponsored by Tom Schunke, owner of and D and D's in New City, the event featured twenty 3 person teams.
The benefit, replete with food, drink, and music by DJ Rockin' Richie Lea, was again organized by New City residents Jim Campolo and Danny Price. This successful event raised approximately $4200 for the New City Fire Department, New City Ambulance Coprps, and the Clarkstown PBA Welfare fund.
Legislator Ed Day, who represents New City in the County legislature, led in the Pledge of Allegiance and threw out the ceremonial first pitch to open up the tournament.
