Businessman and Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin was today endorsed by Rockland County Legislator and Minority Leader Frank Sparaco in his campaign for the 17th Congressional District.
"Joe Carvin is uniquely qualified to represent us in Congress," said Sparaco. "His decades of business experience and record making town government more efficient is precisely what is needed today in Washington. We need a representative who can jumpstart the economy and Joe is our guy."
Carvin cut taxes every year since being in office and has reduced town expenditures by 25 percent. He refused to take a salary and commissioned a study to eliminate his own job by pursing the dissolution of Rye Town as a redundant level of government.
"Maybe President Obama thinks the economy is doing fine, but Rockland residents are suffering under the tax and spend policies that are killing jobs and giving us insurmountable levels of debt," said Carvin. "This election is a wakeup call for our country. We cannot continue to elect the same people to office and expect a different result."
