The Rockland Community Foundation announced that for the sixth consecutive year the non-profit organization will provide 10 food pantries throughout Rockland County with $500 ShopRite gift cards, for a total of $5,000. Cards will be distributed in time for the 2012 Thanksgiving/Holiday season.
Applications were mailed August 1, 2012 to all local area food pantries.
Applications are also available by sending an email request to info@rocklandgives.org. We urge all Rockland food pantries to apply for assistance.
“Food pantries in Rockland County are once again anticipating a challenge in meeting the demands of the many families in need during the Holiday Season," explains Rockland Community Foundation President Patrick Byrne. "The Rockland Community Foundation is hoping that these contributions will help ease their financial burden at such a critical time of year.”
