Three Rockland County EMS providers will receive Regional Honors on Wednesday. County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef will present the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council Regional Awards to three Emergency Medical Services providers:
- Martin Morano from Haverstraw Ambulance will be presented with the Youth Provider of the Year Award
- John Scanlon from Rockland County EMS and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Dept. will be presented with the Educator of the Year Award
- Chief Steve Kaye of Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps will receive the Commissioners Award.
These EMS providers were selected from the six-county Hudson Valley Region, which includes Rockland,
Each of the honorees is presently being considered for New York State Department of Health EMS statewide level
awards, which will be presented in October.
In addition, Vanderhoef will present the 1st Place Cup for the Annual Youth Competition to the Haverstraw Ambulance Youth Corps Trauma Hawks. These dedicated young people have consistently demonstrated an interest and preparedness for responding and saving lives.
