Yesterday, was a wonderful day for Jawonio, and our long time esteemed Board Member, Bill O' Neil , Bill O’ Neil for his legacy of service and commitment to Jawonio. Approximately 50 friends, family, Board colleagues, residents and staff attended the afternoon celebration on November 5th.
Bill was appointed to the Jawonio Associate Board in 1989 serving as a member of the budget and finance, nominating, vocational services and governance committees. In 1991 he became a Jawonio Board member serving on the Executive Board and has been with us ever since. Under Bill’s leadership as chair of our annual golf outing since 1994, the event has raised over one million dollars for our Foundation in support of our services.
As you can see, Bill’s active leadership on the Board of Directors and his “ambassadorship” in the community has made a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families for more than 20 years. We are thrilled to show our appreciation to Bill, an outstanding and passionate member of the Jawonio family. This home epitomizes all the values that Bill espouses in his dedication to Jawonio’s mission, and is a fitting testament to his longstanding support of all of our programs.
Thank you to Jane Mullin, Division Director, of Community Living Services, the entire staff, and the 8 residents who welcomed us as guests into the Bill O' Neil home for this memorable event.
