On Wednesday, January 9th, Steven Weissblatt, owner of Original Designs Jewelery and outgoing president of the New City Chamber of Commerce was honored by fellow Chamber members, family, and friends at the annual Holiday Party sponsored by the New City Chamber of Commerce and held at La Terrazza Restaurant in New City.
In addition to the annual installation of new officers for the organization, incoming president Gary Oteri spoke of the accomplishments of his predecessor during his term in office. Steve was also recognized by a number of government officials.
Legislator Ed Day, on behalf of the entire legislature, presented Steve with the Distinguished Service Award of Rockland County in recognition of his accomplishments, which included a revitalized New City Street Fair and partnering with merchants, residents, and government officials to minimize the impact of the ongoing construction that is part of the hamlet revitalization process.
