The first session in a Transition Workshop Series for high school students with disabilities and their families will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Rockland BOCES main campus, 65 Parrott Road in West Nyack.
The topic is “ACCES-VR: Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation.” Attendees will learn about ACCES-VR’s services and how it determines eligibility for those services, as well as the difference between “school-based disability” and “work-based disability.”
The workshop will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Conference Center in Building 10. There is no need to register. The Transition Workshops are offered through Rockland BOCES and the Rockland Transition Consortium. For more information, contact Dawn Kitz at dkitz@rboces.org or (845) 624-5833.
