Big Brothers Big Sisters to Hold Art for Kids’ Sake Art Auction

Friday, December 13, 2013

On Friday, December 13, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland will hold an Art for Kids’ Sake Art Auction. The auction, sponsored by Crowne Plaza Suffern and hosted by Marlin Auctions, will be held at Crowne Plaza Suffern, 3 Executive Blvd, Suffern, NY 10901. The preview will be at 7 PM and the auction will start at 8 PM.  Hors d’oeuvres, light dinner, and dessert will be included with ticket purchase. The auction will feature custom framed and matted works of art and include pieces from artists such as Kinkade, Picasso, Chagall, Dali, Boulanger, Neiman, Shaviko and more!

Tickets to the auction are $10 per person or $15 per couple. In addition to featuring art in all media and price ranges, there will also be a door prize, a 50/50 raffle and an exciting silent auction. Proceeds from the auction will be used to help Big Brothers Big Sisters further its mission of providing professionally supported one-to-one mentoring, education and support services to “at-risk” children ages 7-18 from one-parent homes in our area.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County serves nearly 500 local children and families a year through mentoring and long-term after school programs, the Court Ordered Visitation Program, the Education for Delinquent Youth Program, the Juvenile Mentoring Program, and the Family Assistance Program.

“We rely on donations from the community and business partnerships through fundraisers like this one to keep our programs growing and going strong,” explains President/CEO Gillian Ballard. “With our community’s support, Rockland children facing adversity will have the opportunity to envision - and work for - a brighter future,” she continues.

Children who are mentored have greater confidence and better relationships with peers and adults, are more likely to avoid risky or violent behavior, and achieve higher academic success overall, enabling them to give back to their community.

Please join us in our mission to make a positive impact on children.  Purchase tickets to the auction on Friday December 13, advertise your business in our exclusive Art for Kids’ Sake Auction Program or make a silent auction or monetary donation.

To purchase tickets, send check payable to: “Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland ” to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland Art Auction Tickets, 65 North Main Street, New City, NY 10956 or call Elise Markowitz at 914.260.5408.  For further details, to place a journal ad or to make a silent auction or monetary donation, please visit us at: www.bbbsofrc.com or call Elise Markowitz at 914.260.5408.
