The New City Little League Majors Division Cubs won the National League Championship Tuesday night over the Pirates 16-2 at Zukor park in New City. The team had a great season finishing 15-4 overall and were undefeated in the National Division. All season it was a total team effort. The team was lead by leadoff hitter and shortstop Zach Kahn and the explosive bats and arms of pitchers Thomas Zodda, Joey Coopersmith, John Finnen, John Quinlan and Brendan Curley. Defensive standouts were catcher Alex Fetterman, second baseman Joey Carelli and 3rd baseman Scotty Lauder The outfield was strong with Kieran Keenan, John Lagana and Chris Deblasio. The team was lead by Manager by Paul Kahn and coaches Dan Deblasio, Rudy Zodda and Scott Fetterman. The team is sponsored by Jeff Sanoian All Sport & Spine Physical Therapy in New City. The team celebrated their Championship with ice cream at Twist N Shake. Next up for the Champs is entry in the Rockland County Tournament of Champions held in Haverstraw.
