An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at the Pearl River Elks Lodge 2041, where Blauvelt resident Victor Armaniaco of BSA Troop #2 attained the rank of Eagle Scout, a distinction earned by only 4% of all Boy Scouts nationwide.
The event was well attended by family, friends, elected officials, and fellow scouts. Rockland County Executive Ed Day presented him with an Award of Excellence on behalf of the County of Rockland during the ceremony.
Victor's Eagle Leadership Service Project was a significant paving and beautification of the grounds at the Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery.
