Free Tickets available to County Executive Arts Awards

Tickets are free to this year's 24th Annual County Executive Arts Awards, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at the Cultural Arts Center at Rockland Community College.

Nominations have been accepted in six categories, including Arts Educator, Literary Artist, Performing Artist, Visual Artist, Arts Organization and Patron of the Arts. The County Executive will choose the winner of the new "Ars Longa" Award, which will be bestowed on an individual or organization that has made a lasting, lifelong impact on the arts and quality of life in Rockland County.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited and filling up quickly. Make reservations today by calling the Rockland Office of Tourism & Local Development at 845-708-7300 or emailing Rockland Tourism office at info@rocktourism.com.

The 2013 County Executive Arts Awards ceremony includes performers and nominees from all arts organizations and members of the Rockland County arts community, said County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef.  The stellar entertainment lineup includes Grammy-winning jazz pianist Alan Broadbent, world-renowned cellists, husband and wife duo Julia Lichten and David Geber, the Jeffrey Friedberg Band, and special guests from the world of entertainment and the arts around Rockland.

The County Executive's Office and the Office of Tourism & Local Development is partnering with the Arts Council of Rockland to produce the event this year. Sponsors of the 24th Annual County Executive Arts Awards include Orange & Rockland Utilities, News 12, ArtsRock and the New York State Department of Economic Development’s I Love NY program.
