Joe Lockhart and Roberta Katz Bring Dr. Seuss and Giggles to Jawonio

Everyday is a good day for Dr. Seuss and today was no different.  Celebrity readers, Joe Lockhart and Roberta Katz visited Jawonio’s Katzen Early Childhood Education Center today and had 20 children smiling and giggling in Ginny and Mary’s Preschool Special Education class.  Jawonio CEO, Jill Warner said, “We are delighted to have generous people like Joe and Roberta giving back to our children, adults and our families at a time when Jawonio and our communities need it the most.”

Lockhart and Katz are the co-chairs of the new “Hometown Heroes” project. The new initiative for 2014 will bring together successful individuals who grew up in Rockland County and have agreed to get involved with Jawonio from "afar" even if they live and work elsewhere in the US or around the world.  Jawonio received an extraordinary $5000 gift in start-up funding from a former Rocklander and philanthropist who currently lives in New Jersey.

Joe Lockhart, Founder/Managing Director of Glover Park Group and Suffern native, is the former chief spokesman and senior adviser to President Bill Clinton from 1998-2000 and more recently, he served as Vice President of global communications for Facebook from 2011-2013 where he managed corporate, policy & international communications.
