OJC Mitzvah Day Brings Annual Joy and generosity for the holidays


Orangetown Jewish Center Rabbi Paula Mack-Drill(4th in on L) with residents and staff of Jawonio for the annual Mitzvah Day event at the Salmon Home in New City. Residents made Thanksgiving and Chanukah holiday projects and played Bingo together.

The Orangetown Mitzvah Day is an event led by volunteers and clergy, Rabbi Craig Scheff and Rabbi Paula Mack-Drill, along with congregants and their families participate in a variety of events including a breakfast run to NYC for the homeless, clean-up projects in Orangetown; donating clothing, blankets, specialized support items and food to People to People and other nonprofits and health care facilities here and in Israel as well as a visit to a Jawonio community residence for adults with special needs.
