St. Paul's Christian Day School Joined By More Than 170 Children and Families During "Family Fun Night" for Ribbon-Cutting and Blessing Ceremony of New Playground

More than 170 children, families and alumni of St. Paul’s Christian Day School came out yesterday evening to celebrate the debut of a new playground during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, located on 323 South Main Street in New City, NY.

The ceremony took place as part of the school’s “Family Fun Night,” where children and families enjoyed pizza, ice cream and other fun activities at the event, which also featured music from the award-winning children’s group “The Bossy Frog Band”.

“Thank you to The Enrichment Fund and CDS families and alumni for their support of our school,” said Judith Benoit, Director of St. Paul’s Christian Day School.

“As “play” is a critical part of early childhood development, this project is an investment in our children’s growth and well-being... and therefore an asset to our New City community,” said Rev. Rhonda J. Hoehn, Pastor of the Church, who also gave a blessing for the new playground.

In addition to Director Benoit and Pastor Hoehn, other event participants included: Joel Epstein, Community Liaison/Code & Zoning Enforcement Officer from Clarkstown Supervisor Alexander Gromack’s office; and Jen ChiarelloShalamar Eagel and Antoniette Grijalva, who headed the Enrichment Fund responsible for playground fundraising.

St. Paul’s Christian Day School provides an educational program designed to guide and nurture children ages eighteen months through five years in physical, emotional, spiritual and educational growth.  St. Paul Lutheran Church established the Christian Day School in September 1968, as an outreach to the community.
