No GOP Cross Endorsements Of Democrats Ever Again.

Party bosses abdicate their responsibility when they trade invaluable ballot lines for favors and patronage jobs.

The illicit practice of party cross endorsements is not unique to Rockland County elections but it does undermine the electoral process by failing to providing the voters right to choose.

It is the responsibility of Party Chairmen and Committees to ensure that free and fair elections are uncompromisingly protected. Party bosses abdicate their responsibility when they trade invaluable ballot lines for favors and patronage jobs.

Voters and Committee people who shrug their shoulders and dismiss such conduct as simply, ‘politics’ are apathetic and empower this failure to lead. When we find Democrat candidates on the Republican ballot, put there by Republican Party bosses in return for favors, the idea of a two party system is useless.

The Republican Party committee people and every voter should reject this bankrupt practice immediately.   They offer no reason anyone should vote for Republicans, when the Republican leadership themselves are telling the voters to vote for Democrats by giving them their party’s ballot line.  It’s a pure failure of leadership, when Party bosses suppress Republican candidates and promote Democrats to Republican voters.  Most insidious is that it is all done as a result of back room deals and political pay-offs.  I predict a Republican rebellion should any Republican ballot have a Democrat candidate placed on it ever again in this County.

If we find such a travesty occur; we need not look far for the reason.  A short investigation will uncover that a job, contract, rigged bid, money or quid pro quo was the pay off.

It is a failure to the voters by their own Party leadership, if they cannot produce a viable challenger in the market place of ideas that produce enough contrast to attract voters to that candidate, irrespective of party affiliation.

Recall elections in Ramapo, Haverstraw and Clarkstown.  Those Town Supervisor and Council races put Democrat candidates on Republican ballots over Republicans.   There is no excuse, no reason, rationale, that could possibly justify in failing to provide the electorate in a two party system, viable opposing candidates.

It is a leadership responsibility to provide a choice for the voters to decide who will best serve their interest and not the interest of a select few.  Party Chair's should not trade the ballot for patronage jobs as if they are an employment agency.

This should be abruptly halted.  They were forewarned, a rebellion cannot be averted.

The 2012 GOP Convention rank and file for the first time in 20 years, openly, and brazenly, rejected Vincent D. Reda as County Chairman, despite spin to the contrary.   As many of you may know, elections between contending candidates are decided by the ballot not screaming matches or other unsavory measures that stank of soiled diaper fear, reeking the establishment body.

Reda failed to produce any ballots to count votes because no votes were cast.  The Court of Appeals will have their say on the matter as a suit filed in that court will determine.

Elections are far too important to be undermined by this short sighted practice. The credibility of the Republican Party and survival our two party systems hang in the balance.

Today, failed leadership are deconstructing the Republican Party and morphing it into Republicans In Name Only – RINOs.  It will take a 21st Century Republican rebellion to reverse this ugly trend.

The prospect of two distinct political parties merged into one because of being sold out by their leadership in return for favors abhor Democrats also. The tax payers in Rockland County are facing many of the issues in part because there is no opposition, no opposing party, no fighters, contending ideas protecting them.

Conformity, collaborating and back room dealing, trading jobs like those suspiciously handed over to Savino and Sparaco in Clarkstown, seemingly for the party line are how we got into this mess in the first place.

Stopping it, is a good start to climb our way out.  Speaking truth to power works even better, when we resolve to remove the violators of our trust, from power. We must do better, because we can not afford continuing to do worse.
