The 2013 "Apples" Poker Run held in downtown New City raised close to $9,000 for the Rebuild Hi-Tor Animal Shelter campaign from a record number of 300 participants. The three hour event on Sunday started at Doyler & Dunneys on South Main Street and the teams of four players made their way to each of the four other participating restaurants: Kumo, The Club House, The Castle Inn, and La Terrazza where the captain collected their cards in sealed envelopes. The teams were required to purchase at least one beverage at each establishment.
