The Man in the Crowd

Why Go: Veteran sports journalist and Yankee fan Stanley Cohen will speak about his new book which examines the sense of comfort people take from the continuity of this great American pastime.

Spring Recess Mini Camp (All spaces filled)

When/Where: Thursday, March 28, Friday, March 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m./Street Community Center, 31 Zukor Road, New City
Why Go: Grades K through 6, “Parties A La Carte” on Thursday and Movies on Friday plus arts and crafts, sports and gym games

Line Dancing

When/Where: Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m./Clarkstown Reformed Church, 107 Strawtown Rd, West Nyack
Why Go: Knights Line dancing is the only line dance event group in Rockland County. We enjoy line and partner dancing at Clarkstown Reformed Church on Thursdays and have line dance instructors that teach on other nights in different locations.

Jeffrey Friedberg and the Bossy Frog Band 

When/Where: Thursday, March 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m./Pearl River Public Library
Why Go: For children ages two through five accompanied by an adult. Jeffrey Friedberg and the Bossy Frog Band performs a mix of children’s classics and their own original music.

Solemn Good Friday Walk, Main Street, New City

When/Where: Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m./St. Paul Lutheran Church, 323 S Main St, New City
Why Go: St. Paul's Lutheran Church and St. John's Episcopal Church are leading a Good Friday walk down Main Street in New City with stops for quiet prayer. The walk will begin and end at St. Paul's.

Karaoke Croke

When/Where: Friday, March 29 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m./ Nyack Library
Why Go: How bad can you be? This teen program provides the Karaoke machine loaded with the worst songs they can find. Be ready to sing. Badly. The worst performers get a treat.

Girls in Motion

When/Where: Fridays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m./American Woman Fitness, 700 Broadway in Westwood, NJ.  
Why Go: Friday night parties geared for girls ages 10 to 14. Includes 45 minute exercise class and 45 minutes free swim. Bring sneakers, towel and a bathing suit.

Just Between Us: A Parent and Daughter Event

When/Where: Saturday, March 30 at 11:30 a.m./ Barnes & Noble Book Store in Palisades Center Mall.
Why Go: For parents and girls age eight and over, this workshop is based on American Girls’ The Care and Keeping of You. The event includes games and activities, with a goal of keeping lines of communication open between parents and children as girls grow up.
