Battle of the Books
 

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m./ Pearl River Public Library
Why Go: The Battle of the Books is a competition for students in grades nine through 12 in which they answer questions about books they have read. The libraries in the Ramapo Catskill region will battle it out in the event’s fifth year. .

Pearl River Lions Club Flea Market and Crafts Fair

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. / Central Ave. Field in Pearl River.
Why Go: Come shop for baby items, homemade chocolate, tools, used goods, hand made items, sunglasses, wallets, watches, fishing tackle, sports trading cards, handbags, jewelry, paintings, photo albums, magnets, gift baskets, charm bracelets, antiques and more. Back to the Garden 1969 will play live in the gazebo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

JCC Rockland's 25th Anniversary Open House & Wellness Fair

When/Where: Sunday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m./JCC of Rockland, 450 W Nyack Rd, West Nyack
Why Go: Join us for a fun time at the J, spending the day at Rockland’s ultimate fitness and community center! Events include: Fitness Demos, Wellness Screenings, Inflatables, Live Music, BBQ, Petting Zoo, Raffles, Class Discounts and Special Membership Offer - 1 day only!
Cost/Contact: $10 per person for those 18 years of age and up. Maximum of $20 per family. Reduce admission fees by bringing items (blankets, toys, food…) to be donated to Hi-Tor Animal Shelter. Discount will be $1 for each item donated with a maximum of $5 discount per person. /www.jccrockland.org
