Be Fashionable And Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Designer Consigner is donating 25 percent of today's proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Stop in at the Designer Consigner shop on Route 304 in Nanuet and a portion of your purchase will go toward Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS).  Within a few hours of opening, Owner Marcie Myerow said sales were already strong.

“It’s been a good day so far,” she said, adding she expected to raise more money than in 2011.

25 percent of today's proceeds will go to BBBS. Designer Consigner sells gently worn designer items.  Prices start at $5 for women's clothing, shoes and accessories including handbags and jewelry.

Myerow said she worked with Gillian Ballard of BBBS to promote the fundraiser. Myerow said she approached Ballard last year about donating unsold items to the organization. She explained sometimes owners do not want the items back if they do not sell and ask her to donate them.

The all day fundraiser will end when Designer Consigner closes at 7 p.m.
