Busy Week at Bartow Pell Mansion

Author talk and clean up days this week.

The final day approaches for the exhibit Shade and Shadow: A Selection of American and British Silhouettes this Sunday. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. author and antiquarian William Ketchum will speak at Bartow Pell Mansion Museum on the rise and fall of the once popular medium. Silhouettes were an affordable art medium in the nineteenth century. 

Ketchum's talk is free and will conclude with a wine and cheese reception. Attendees are asked to register by calling Bartow Pell Mansion Museum at 718-885-1461 or emailing info@bpmm.org

This weekend will also be busy for the museum. In addition to the close of the silhouette exhibit on Sunday, there are two events on Saturday.

The museum is asking members of the community to lend a hand clearing the grounds for debris left by Hurricane Sandy from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To show their gratitude, the museum will offer volunteers fresh donuts. Contact the museum to register.

Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 4 p.m. there will be an . Cost is $10 adults, $7 seniors and students; members $7 adults, $5 seniors and students. Attendees are asked to register by calling Bartow Pell Mansion at 718-885-1461 or emailing info@bpmm.org
