Due to recent winter storms, the New York Blood Center had to cancel multiple blood drives locally, or had low turnouts due to people not being able to attend other drives.
Because of those issues, Rockland is facing a shortage of blood and is asking people to come out for the next county blood drive on Wednesday, March 27th at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center in Building A of Exhibition Hall in Pomona, located at 50 Sanatorium Road. The blood drive goes from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“We urge residents, who are able to do so, to donate blood in their area,” said Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef in a statement. “The county continues to hold blood drives several times a year to help with the supply.”
