Historical Society Highlights Works Of Local Writers, Illustrators

Book Fair a fundraiser for New City-based history organization.

The works of local writers and artists are set to be featured Saturday in the Historical Society of Rockland County's first Rockland Authors and Illustrators Book Fair in New City.

The event, a fundraiser for the historical society, will include visits by Rockland County writers and artists and their books and CDs will be available for sale — with part of the proceeds benefitting the society.

Included in the event are:

— Rockland's new county historian Craig Long.

— Children's book authors and illustrators Elizabeth Sayles and Barbara Soloff Levy

— Journalist and retired editorial writer Arthur H. Gunther III.

— E-book writer Frank Vitale. 

The fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Historical Society’s  museum gallery. The event will also feature books from The Historical Society of the Nyacks and The Haverstraw Brick Museum.
