Official Library Budget Vote Results Released

The final tally varies very slightly and there is no change in the outcome

 

The official results of the votes for the New City and West Nyack libraries' budgets have been released. The final tally does not change the outcome, both 2014 fiscal year budgets passed on Wednesday. 

The total number of votes rose by just one.  The final results record 654 votes in favor and 284 against for a total of 938.  One more District Two vote in favor of the budgets was added to the count. The 938 voters represent a small segment of the 12,675 eligible registered voters in the Clarkstown School District.

In District One, which had the largest turnout, voters were 291 in favor, 136 opposed. In District Two, 49 people voted yes on the budgets and 26 were against.

In District Three, 199 votes were cast in favor and 86 were opposed. District Four voters cast 115 ballots for the budgets and 36 against.

The majority of the 76 absentee ballots sent in were against the budgets. Of the 76 absentee ballots, 48 were against the budget sand 28 were for them.
