O&R Contractor Testing Utility Poles

Have you noticed two feet deep holes around utility poles in your neighborhood? That means an O&R contractor is checking the condition and testing the durability of the poles.

"We go round on a cycle to test the strength of the poles," said O&R spokesman Mike Donovan.

He said the workers dig next to the poles, do borings and conduct a series of tests. Donovan said the holes like these along Park Lane in Nanuet will be filled in before the crews leave.
