Reda Replaced As State GOP First Vice Chair

Rockland County Republican Committee Chairman Vincent D. Reda no longer holds the second highest-ranking position in the state Republican Committee, a post he served in for eight years. On Wednesday, the party’s executive committee unanimously elected Thomas V. Dadey, Jr. chairman of the Onondaga County GOP Committee as the state party’s first vice chair.

Reda said the change occurred to shift some of the party’s leadership to upstate regions.

“The reason was all the leadership was downstate,” said Reda, who voted in favor of the switch.

The executive committee is made up of the party’s nine regional vice chairs including Reda. The state party's first vice chair post is the highest-ranking position after chairman, which is held by Ed Cox.

In a statement released by the committee, Cox thanked Reda for his service since 2006.

“Chairman Reda has been an exemplary leader and I look forward to continuing to work with him as the Regional Vice Chair for the Hudson Valley," said Cox.

Reda was the mid Hudson GOP chair before taking on the state vice chair post.
