The New City Library Board cancelled its November 15 meeting because not enough members were available to attend.  The meeting has been rescheduled to tonight at 7 p.m.  The agenda lists numerous board committees that may be presenting reports.

The committees include: Personnel and Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Nominating, Policy and Planning and the Ad Hoc New Director Search Committee. Under new business, the board will discuss voting procedures for 2012.

At its last meeting, which was a special session on Monday, Nov. 5, the board voted on which of six candidates to recommend for the three open trustee seats.

The board voted to recommend a slate of current board members Ed Kallen and Christian Cortelli, as well as Cecily Cohen.

The board’s election is Wednesday, Dec. 12, the same day the public votes on the library budget for the coming fiscal year. The proposed budget is $5,089,075 for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2014.  It is 1.23 percent higher than the current spending plan of $5,027,350 and would increase the tax levy paid by property owners by 1.3 percent.
