Following the Republican Party's announcement that County Legislator, Frank Sparaco, had been 'filming' conversations in search of alleged political corruption, a defamation lawsuit against him, Clarkstown Highway's Superintendent, Wayne Ballard, County GOP Chairman, Vinny Reda, and Clarkstown GOP Chairman, Bob Axelrod, is expected to be filed the week of August 12, 2013 by Clarkstown's Fleet Manager, Dennis Malone.

 From Nyack-Piermont Patch: Playoffs, You're Talking Playoffs?!

It's that time of year.  Just six games left and what looked to be a lock has now turned into a free for all where some crazy stuff can and probably will happen.  Who would have thought that by Week Nine that the D-Backs, Mariners and Brewers would all be in contention for a first round playoff bye?

What comes to mind when you hear the word “cheesecake?” New York is the first thing I think of, and I guess it’s with good reason. In 1872 William Lawrence is believed to have accidentally developed the modern cheesecake in Chester, New York. James Kraft also deserves his due for contributing to this luscious dessert. His pasteurized cream cheese, the Philadelphia brand, is one of the most commonly used ingredients in cheesecake today. Many store brands taste just as good, though, and may cost a little less.
